Celia Barrett, A.S.I.D., I.I.D.A.,
is the principal and owner of Celia Barrett Design, LLC, a boutique interior design firm located in Jackson, Mississippi with satellite offices in New York City and McComb, MS. An interior designer for more than 30 years, Ms. Barrett has been a senior project designer for several leading New York City architectural firms. In 1985 she left the position of Senior Store Designer for Macy’s Corporate Stores to return to corporate design. In 1987 she formed her own business in New York. Ms. Barrett holds a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the
Auburn University College of Architecture. She continued her studies at Auburn and Parson’s School of Design in New York City in both set design and antiques. She is currently an adjunct professor of interior design in the department of Fine Arts at Mississippi College.
Ms Barrett is
N.C.I.D.Q. certified (National Council on Interior Design Qualification). She is
a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (A.S.I.D) and the International Interior Design Association (I.I.D.A.). She is also a member of the Better Business Bureau, the Chamber of Commerce and the US Green Building Council.
Among other accomplishments, she is the 2008
A.S.I.D. Gold Award Regional Winner for residential design, the 2007 top winner of the
I.I.D.A “Recognizing Excellence Award” for this tri-state region, and the 2007 A.S.I.D
Bronze Award for residential design. She has won three
Sensational Spaces awards from Mississippi Magazine. She has been published numerous times. Ms Barrett uses her ability to recognize the clients needs, likes and philosophy.
